About Me
Throughout my life, I’ve been defying naysayers and navigating through diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging issues. Despite the naysayers, I would become an Army Veteran, first-generation college student, the first Black American to obtain a Ph.D. from my department’s school psychology program and possess the unique distinction of being the less than 1% of psychologists practicing in schools that is an African American male. I was selected to help manage and shift the culture and climate of a department that serves those with parenting teens, single parent, justice-involved, houseless, and foster youth backgrounds.
Familiar pathways of creative expression that I once thought were lost have reopened and helped me reconnect to my authentic self.
I welcome you to tell me about your journey. I want to offer you an emotionally and psychologically safe place to discuss how you navigate the complexities of diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion issues. Let me help you pursue liberation and empowerment as we explore your authentic self and collaboratively reclaim your narrative from the systems trying to deny you of your humanity. Let’s get you from surviving to thriving.
